Fun fact: Legendary philosopher David Lewis thought the problem of evil succeeded, and "even the most ambitious version succeeds conclusively."
Philip Kitcher wrote the essay based on an outline Lewis wrote and on conversations. But Lewis passed away before he could write the paper, and so this is a posthumous publication of Lewis' ideas on evil.
David Lewis rightly recognizes that the logical problem of evil succeeds with respect to the infernalist God.
