Attributed to C.S. Lewis by Philip Dow in Virtuous Minds, 2013, pg 39. Apparently from a sermon delivered in 1939, and published in The Weight of Glory under the chapter "Learning in War-Time."
As someone who left his job to pursue philosophy full time, I appreciate this quote!
